Lipstick Tips: How to Apply Lip Gloss
Of all the items we always carry in our bags everywhere we go few are so helpful in crisis situations like the lip gloss. Pull it out, dab it on and get a pair of luscious, sensual lips begging to be kissed instantly! And you don’t even need a mirror or any makeup application skills whatsoever. Talk about having your cake and eating it too!
There are so many wonderful lip glosses out there that it’s hard to stick with just one. Luckily, you don’t have to. But there are a few essential tricks on how to apply this type of product as well as what to look for in a quality product. For starters, every self-respecting girl past the age of 10 needs to have on her, at all times, a nude or sheer bright lip gloss. In emergency situations when that lipstick just won’t stay where it’s supposed to any longer, just whip out your trusted gloss and do some damage control. Et voilà! Another good use is to simply enhance your favorite lipstick color with a layer of eye-catching shimmer on top of it – it would be difficult not to notice you, guaranteed!
Although ubiquitous and unpretentious – lip gloss does require certain preparation if you want to make the most of it. Exfoliating your lips with a gentle scrub before application is recommended to ensure there won’t be any unevenness. Don’t overdo it as you may damage the tender skin, but two to three minutes should do the trick.
Afterwards, moisturize your lips with a good balm or conditioner. It’s amazing how many people forget their lips when they moisturize their face. It’s one of the cardinal sins of our beauty routines! Blot the excess lip balm or conditioner with a tissue and apply a bit of foundation or concealer for an uneven tone.
Always apply lip gloss with short, brisk strokes as you gradually fill in your lips. Using the brush helps with achieving more precision, but don’t get too confident and try to apply in one single motion as you may end up with unflattering, uneven lines. You should move from the center of the lips along their length. Blot out any excess that is outside the natural lip line as you don’t want the color to ‘bleed’.
The final result as lips worthy of a red carpet appearance and you’re guaranteed to turn quite a few heads at any event. Also you can get a perfect pout picture! It’s a cheap, easy and quick way to achieve a glamorous look without too much effort. And if that’s possible – what more is there to life? High maintenance is so overrated and the ‘girl next door’ look is so cute. Try lip makeup on for yourself.
